Da-Group participates in the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Biomass satellite mission | Apr 28, 2025

DA-Group is involved in the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Biomass satellite project, part of the Earth Explorers program. The satellite is scheduled for launch on April 29, 2025, aboard a Vega C rocket operated by Arianespace.

The Biomass mission is designed to deliver crucial information about the state of our forests, how they are changing, and to further our knowledge of the role forests play in the Earth’s carbon cycle. The satellite’s P-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) will enable the first-ever systematic global measurement of forest biomass.

DA-Group supplied SiO₂ cables manufactured by Times Microwave (installed between the antenna and amplifier), as well as flexible cables from Huber & Suhner. The delivery included complex bending, specialized testing (including multipaction testing), and meeting strict quality standards under a tight schedule impacted by the COVID pandemic.
