DA-Group Building Its Next Phase of Growth

DA-Group is developing its organisation to support the Group’s long-term growth, internationalisation and competitiveness.

In recent years, DA-Group has grown significantly, particularly in its international defence and space businesses. The Group is now building its next phase of growth by streamlining its structure and strengthening expertise in key areas of the business. The objective is to ensure that DA-Group can serve its customers even better, develop new solutions in a rapidly changing operating environment, and maintain its competitiveness over the long term.

“We are building DA-Group for its next phase of growth. We want to ensure that our organisation supports our customers’ needs, our employees’ success, and our strategic objectives in international markets in the best possible way,” says Sami Kotiniemi, Chief Executive Officer of the Group.

Organisational Development Progresses in Phases

The development of the organisation is progressing in phases across different business areas. The aim is to ensure that the Group’s structure, expertise and operating models support future growth, internationalisation and customer needs as effectively as possible.

“As part of these changes, we have reviewed responsibilities, ways of working and organisational structures. Some changes have already been implemented, some are currently under way, and in some areas the work is still ongoing,” Kotiniemi explains.

Market developments and fluctuations in demand have affected the Group’s different businesses in different ways. While expertise is being strengthened and preparations are being made for growth in some areas, market conditions in others have required measures to balance variations in workload.

“The situation varies across our businesses. In some areas, demand and growth prospects are strong, while in others market conditions have required us to adapt our operations to current workloads,” says Kotiniemi. He emphasises that the overall objective of the changes is to build an organisation that can make the most of growth opportunities and serve its customers even more effectively in a changing operating environment.

The changes will continue to be implemented in phases throughout the autumn. During the transition, employees are being supported through active communication, career coaching services and close cooperation with occupational healthcare providers.

Investing in Expertise and Competitiveness

At the same time as organisational structures are being renewed, the Group is strengthening expertise in areas where growth and customer needs require it. DA-Group is investing particularly in technology and product development, commercial operations and business development.

The objective is to build an organisation that can respond quickly to changes in the operating environment, seize new business opportunities and provide customers with even stronger expertise and delivery capability.

Despite the ongoing changes, DA-Group’s customer projects, deliveries and partnerships continue as normal.

“All ongoing projects, deliveries and customer cooperation continue according to plan. We are developing our operations so that we can serve our customers even better in the future,” says Kotiniemi.

DA-Group continues to invest in technologies, products and the development of its international business. The company has strengthened its manufacturing capabilities, among other things, through the acquisition of a new SMD production line.

At the same time, DA-Group is actively developing new solutions for the defence, space and industrial sectors. One example is DAREYE, launched earlier this year, a device capable of detecting satellite surveillance activity that provides an entirely new capability for the defence sector.

For more than thirty years, DA-Group has been building Finnish high-technology expertise. The purpose of the changes now being implemented is to ensure that the Group can continue to grow, evolve and create new opportunities for its customers, partners and employees in the years ahead.
